Hearing aids can be a necessity if a person has lost hearing ability due to illness or a physical problem. Hearing aids can help the person to return to almost normal hearing and enjoy social interchange, TV, Music, and conversation. Loss of hearing at any age can be distressful, annoying and mentally disturbing as the person is cut off from normal voice communication. When hearing aids restore hearing capability, the person immediately feels normal and not like an outsider.

Not being able to use the telephone would be a terrible inconvenience to a person with a loss of hearing. Lack of communication can affect a person’s sense of well being. It can interfere with social exchange and make their life more difficult. If audio testing demonstrates that a hearing aid will help, then a hearing aid should be considered a necessity.
